Dispute a listing

Every business named on Auto Scam Alert can respond, and every response we accept is published on the listing itself.

Someone is using my business name or address

This is common. Fraudulent sellers routinely borrow the street address, trading name or licence number of a real, unconnected company to look established.

Choose “My business identity was used without permission” below. That moves the listing to disputed straight away, before a moderator has even read it, and we then publish a notice on the page clearing you by name.

What happens next

  1. You send this form. We acknowledge it by email.
  2. A moderator reviews the listing against what you have told us, and asks you for documentation if it would settle the question.
  3. We correct anything inaccurate, publish your response on the listing, or remove the listing — and we tell you which, and why.

We do not remove accurate reports because a business objects to them, and we say so plainly rather than letting you wait. What we do correct, fast, is anything factually wrong.

If a seller is using your business name, address or licence number without permission, choose the third option — those are handled first.

Be specific about what is inaccurate and what the correct position is. If you have documentation — a licence, a lease, a signed contract — say so and we will ask for it.
We reply to every dispute, usually within two days.
